I talk all the time about how impactful middle school was for me. I felt super excluded and one of the only ways I found to even slightly fit in was through preppy clothes. For years I only wore Ralph Lauren, and found the style to be one of the only ways I could keep up with my peers. “Preservation” for me was through my personal styling and association with the strongest white label I could find. It was how I was able to survive one of the most tumultuous times in my life. Inspiration from my Washington D.C. home and elements of my childhood made for a special collection of images.
